Vacancy for Chair, British Cardiovascular Society Digital and IT Committee

Could you be the next Chair of the Digital and IT Committee at a critical point in the BCS’s digital journey?

The British Cardiovascular Society is looking for a motivated engaged cardiovascular professional in training or a consultant role to Chair the Digital and IT Committee (DITC) meetings and help lead the Digital and IT work stream for the society with steer, support and oversight from the VP Digital, Communications and Marketing (VPDCM), Professor Amitava Banerjee.

Reporting to the Vice President (VP) for Digital, Communications and Marketing, the post-holder is responsible for providing leadership to the Digital and IT Committee. The core responsibility is to help lead the Digital and IT work stream for the society with steer, support and oversight from the VP Digital, Communications and Marketing.

This role would suit someone wishing to further develop their profile in UK cardiovascular medicine with a strong digital and IT interest, expertise or background. The role will be pivotal to the future developments and strategy of the society and the project of digital renewal.

Commitment

The position will be for 3 years, renewable for a further three years by mutual agreement. Meetings are carried out virtually on Teams. The post-holder will have to commit the time needed to deliver on the responsibilities as set out in the role description and will chair for meetings of the Digital and IT Committee per year. In addition to the meetings, the post holder may be required to attend occasional Executive or Board meetings, with advanced warning.
