BCS congratulates Professor Mark Monaghan on his MBE

The BCS is delighted that Professor Mark Monaghan, Director of Invasive Cardiology and a consultant clinical scientist at King’s College London, is today receiving an MBE for his outstanding contribution to enhancing patient safety and patient quality of life, through the advancement of high-quality practice in echocardiography.

Professor Monaghan is a world-renowned expert in echocardiography and Editor-in-Chief of Echo Research and Practice, the leading academic journal in the field. He is the only non-cardiologist to receive the Mackenzie Medal, the highest honour the BCS can bestow, a testament to the significance of his research and practice. He has written over 200 papers, 3 books, and 4 book chapters, mainly related to 3D Echo and Contrast.
